What is Peercoin?

Peercoins’ (PPC) name is derived from the concept peer-to-peer and was introduced to the market in 2012. It was the first coin to combine Proof of Work and Proof of Stake in a hybrid protocol. This hybrid protocol allows the network to keep functioning when there is a sudden drop in mining power.
